…/during my college years, I worked for Boeings as a computer operator. I worked the graveyard shift at night and I was going to college during the day. Around that time, IBM had just come out with their IBM360 Mainframe Computer. It was huge, (almost as big as my tiny studio apartment). And, it had a whopping 262,144 Bytes of ROM memory. To give a little perspective, my phone is about 4″ x 7″, and has about 68,719,476,736 Bytes of ROM memory… 🙂
Anyway, for all the bad experiences I had at Boeing, (like Yin Yang), there was always a good side . My good side was that I fell in love with computers and was able to watch the industry change from a technicians point of view. I also learned how to program the IBM360 computers using key punch cards (which was a fascinating experience). Anyway, I started taking computer lab courses at school, and eventually changed my major from accounting to computer science. more2…..
